Wellington Masters Athletics membership is open to all athletes aged 35 and over. Events are held in 5 year age groups: 35-39, 40-44, 45-49 etc and we offer a pre-vet category for those aged 30-34 to enter our events. Our oldest current member is in the 90-94 age group. Whatever your capabilities, there will be someone with whom you can enjoy friendly competition.
You can become a member either by joining NZMA directly, or by joining a local Athletics NZ Club.

Sign-up or renew your NZMA membership
NZMA membership should be completed through the NZMA Membership page of the New Zealand Masters Athletics website. You can select Wellington as your local centre when you register and your details will be provided to Wellington Masters Athletics.
The membership levels are:
- ANZ Competitive Members – your membership is covered by your ANZ Club Membership fee.
- Eligible to compete at Newtown Park in Grand Prix & Interclub etc, North/South Island MA, New Zealand MA, Oceania MA or World MA Championship events.
- Eligible to compete in all Athletics New Zealand Championship & Athletics Wellington events.
- NZMA-only Competitive Membership
- Eligible to compete at Newtown Park in Grand Prix & Interclub etc, North/South Island MA, New Zealand MA, Oceania MA or World MA Championship events.
- Cannot compete in Athletics New Zealand Championship & Athletics Wellington events.
- NZMA-only Social Membership
- Non-competitive (can only enter Classic XC Relay, Johnsonville Road Race, Lower Hutt 10km Race)
Wellington Master Athletics uniform
Wellington Masters Athletics singlets and T shirts are available at a cost of $30 and $50, respectively. The centre uniform is recommended kit when competing at the North Island Masters Track & Field Champs or the NZ Masters Track & Field Champs.
