South Island Masters
5km Road Run
The 5000m is the longest running race in the South Island Masters Track since the 10km/5km Road Race event was removed. During the years in which it was held, the distances on offer for men and women were different. Men usually ran 10km and women ran 5km. It was last held in 2007 but was dropped to avoid splitting the fields in the distance track races and because suitable road courses became an increasing challenge to find at a manageable cost..
