| The
NZ Masters National Track & Field Championships are held
every year in late February or early March, apart from the
first three which were held over the easter weekend
(exceptions are noted below in table). They were first held in 1975
in Christchurch. Hosting rotates between the eleven
                    centres of the country.
Unlike the winter harrier events, Athletics New Zealand
championships do not provide for masters. Masters
can enter the ANZ Championships but only if they meet the
                    qualifying threshold for senior athletes.
The NZ Masters Track & Field
Championships are open to entry for all members with no
qualifying performance thresholds. As with all masters
championships, there is a high level of camaraderie.
From 2015 a new standard programme has
been developed that allows the championship to run from
Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon. The main difference to
previous years is the relocation of the throws pentathlon
                    from Monday to Sunday.
                    Those championships
known to me to have taken place on grass tracks are marked [G].
