5km Road Run

The 5000m is the longest running race in the North Island Masters Track since the 10km Road Race event was removed. It was last held in 2013 but was dropped to avoid splitting the fields in the distance track races and because suitable road courses became an increasing challenge to find at a manageable cost. Prior to it being removed, the road race was not always held though now and then a 10000m or 5km road race was offered.
