Wellington Road Champs |
| From
2010, the
Centre Cross Road Champs have been held on a 1km (since
2016, a 1.25km) road
section along Reservoir Road in Wainuiomata.
Each lap is 2.5km: 1.25km up the road, 1.25km
back down. The course is slightly sloped, with around 25m of
elevation change between the top and bottom of the course.
The men run 10km. Since 2011 the W35s run
10km instead of 5km. The W50s run 5km.
In 2016, Athletics Wellington introduced
a short course (5km) and long course (10km) championship for each grade.
The short/long course was abandoned after two years.
The race is usually held on the third
Saturday in August. The next
event will be held 26 August 2023. |
