Wellington Masters
Triple Jump

The Triple Jump is an event with an interesting history. It was created from interpretations of the history of ancient Olympic games, where inconceivably long jumps were assumed to have come from a series of jumps but descriptions could as easily have been artistic license. In the modern Olympic games, the event has been contested since their inception in 1896 for men and from 1996 for women.

To be valid for a record, a time must be run with a wind reading of +2.0 or less.

Performances without legal wind readings that would otherwise be records are marked [IW] or [NWI]. Records may be recorded in shorter than winning jumps if wind conditions allow it.

Performances by guest athletes from outside Wellington are marked [IE].

Wellington Records as at 7 May 2023.
